Castlemaine Fringe Festival - Northern Books events
We are pleased to be hosting two FRINGE FESTIVAL events this year and although the program isn't publicly announced until 14/2/2025, as subscribers and friends of Northern Books, you get a sneak peek AND the opportunity to book for these events NOW!
Books and Bubbles
We're hosting our first ever 'salon' style event at Northern Books HQ - our home.
I'm excited to introduce you to an author who I've been working with for some time.
Catherine Greer is a new voice in women's fiction and her debut adult novel, The Bittersweet Bakery Cafe will fill your heart, make you hungry and definitely have you ringing your friends to discuss invisibility, reinvention and the importance of friendship.
We'll have a glass of bubbles, some yummy food and a relaxed chat to Catherine about writing women characters with substance and relevance while still having some fun with them.
Your ticket includes a copy of the book and places are definitely limited!

Date: Saturday March 22 2025
Time: 3 30pm - 5 30pm
Venue: Northern Books Headquarters
Cost: $60 plus booking fee

Christabel Blackman in conversation
We are delighted to be hosting a Fringe Festival event at the Castlemaine Art Museum.
Christabel Blackman joins us to discuss her parents, Charles and Barbara Blackman and their contribution to the burgeoning cultural art scene of 1950s Melbourne - a time of blazing creativity that ultimately led to the formation of the Heide group.

Christabel's book, A Decade of Art and Love, showcases over 160 artworks from Charles Blackman as well as never-before-seen sketches, letters, documents and photos by both parents. It is both beautiful and revealing - a portrait of two people and an Australian art landscape they changed forever.
Christabel will be in conversation with Bendigo Gallery curator, Emma Busowsky.
Date: Sunday March 23 2025
Time: 2 00pm - 4 00pm
Venue: Castlemaine Art Museum
Cost: Tickets $25 and all revenue from ticket sales will be donated back to CAM.
